Chancy's Legacy
In Remembrance of Chancy Johnston:
I don't know where to begin for Chancy has touched our lives in so many different ways. I have pondered on this for several days of my favorite memories of Chancy Johnston there just were so many of them. I thought I just would start from the beginning.
In 1985 I worked along the side of Alan Hogue and Rick Johnston at Twin City Foods in Ellensburg, WA. Alan and I ended up getting together and started dating. Soon after going out with Alan I realized that his sister Elsie also worked at Twin City Foods. Our shifts were 6 days and 10 hours a day.
I soon was introduced to Elsie and we became friends. As Alan and I grew closer together we moved into a small place in Kittitas, WA only a block or two from the Johnston family. I remember Alan bringing me over to meet the family. I was amazed that they had four very small boys.
We started spending most of our spare time with the Johnston family. I spent some amazing and unforgettable time watching the four boys play, bounce on a bed together, play with their dogs, eat many meals together and go to church. At times I would babysit while Rick and Elsie had to work and I didn't. I would walk the four boys down to the local corner store in Kittitas and buy them penny candy. Each boy has a special place in my heart. Chancy must have been just 4 or 5 at the time and the memories just grew from there. Not to mention meeting up with them up camping playing capture the flag, sitting around the campfire, all the wrestling stories that Chancy told and all the fun at the Beach house in Ocean Shores. They were all so loving and happy memories. Chancy always had such a big heart and a huge smile on his face.
Chancy you will be forever loved and not forgotten. I love you and someday we will meet again.
Aunt Deanna Hogue

One of my greatest memories is when Chancy was really small. We were at a river and it was really hot out. I remember making a pool to swim in out of rocks. We had so much fun splashing around to cool off. It has been one of my fondest memories along with all the memories that Deanna and I have of you. I love you and you will be missed very much.
With Love,
Uncle Alan

Stairway To Paradise
Inspired by the Beauty
That each day tends to give
We set out on Journey
To find How best to live
We walk by faith and not by sight
As step-by-step we climb
Upon this stairway, upward,
Towards Heaven's paradise
The steps are sometimes difficult
But each day made complete
By treasured moments that we share
And a promised place of peace
Finally our steps ascend
Beyond the veil of life
Destiny unfolds in glory
In Heaven's paradise

Dear Johnstons & Kayben ~
We loved Chancy so much! It was a blessing to have him as our son-in-law and to share so many wonderful memories together. Remember the fun times our families shared at holiday gatherings, birthdays and bar-b-q's? You all are so precious to us. Thank you for being there for Megan when she & Chance lost Elijah. It is so wonderful to know that they are reunited in Heaven and that we will all join them soon! Our prayers for you will continue to rise up before God's Holy Throne. May Jesus be glorified through your lives and may His everlasting arms hold and comfort you.
